Father

"Fatherhood is leadership, the most important kind of leadership. It has always been so; it always will be so. Father, with the assistance and counsel and encouragement of your eternal companion, you preside in the home. It is not a matter of whether you are most worthy or best qualified, but it is a matter of law and appointment. You preside at the meal table, at family prayer. You preside at family home evening; and as guided by the Spirit of the Lord, you see that your children are taught correct principles. It is your place to give direction relating to all of family life."

I was never able to post for Father's Day, but I cannot go without recognizing what an amazing father Shawn is. Rarely does anything touch my heart more than watching Shawn with Leilah. I have always know the strength and goodness in Shawn, but Leilah brings out his best. My favorite times are coming into the room and hearing him teaching her about something that he loves, or singing her a song (making up words to a familiar tune). I know that Shawn will continue to teach Leilah because I see the joy that it brings him. Leilah will grow up in a home with a father who is a righteous example and has a strong testimony of our Father in Heaven.

"It must be emphasized that as a father, you are always teaching. For good or ill your family learns your ways, your beliefs, your heart, your ideas, your concerns. Your children may or may not choose to follow you, but the example you give is the greatest light you hold before your children, and you are accountable for that light."

(I absolutely love the tenderness of this picture)

A Few More Pictures

5 month old Leilah, was a very fun Leilah. This little girl has mounds of personality and I can't get enough of her grins and giggles. These are just a couple pictures of Leilah from the last month that I couldn't not put up. I love the first two, especially because of her pretty pink cheeks! The blue bear outfit is a beautiful Anne Geddes outfit that a dear friend gave me at my baby shower. It is a perfect warm outfit for early morning walks in the fog.

5 months!!

Can you believe that Leilah is already 5 months old?! Time is going way too fast, but we are loving every minute of it. She is so wonderful. She talks nonstop, giggles all the time, sleeps great, and makes everyone smile. And now that she has just mastered the art of rolling over both ways, it probably won't be long till she is mobile! The video is silly and I'm sure only grandmas, grandpas, aunties, and uncles will watch the whole thing:) This video is right before a nap, so you're getting to see her a little feisty, but still adorable. This little girl is so full of personality!

And here is her five month picture. I know I'm her mom, but I think she is just beautiful! How can you not want to kiss that cute face!

Check out those Giggles!

Leilah has had giggles on and off for awhile now, but last night was her first night were she had constant belly laughs! She was just adorable. And we caught it all on tape! Don't mind the fact that I'm in my grubby PJ's, I wasn't ready for the camera, but just look at how big our little baby is getting! Isn't it amazing the noises you'll make just to make your baby laugh!! HAHA
So the end of this movie is the best, but I had to cut it off because it was too long :(

Here are a few of the cute pictures of Leilah from the last couple weeks. Isn't her shirt in the first two pictures just adorable?! Our friend Kamee gave it to me at my baby shower. It says "Feed me or no one sleeps" !
